About Cleveland Dental Institute - Dayton Children's.
Located at 1 Childrens Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404, Cleveland Dental Institute - Dayton Children's. operates as a dental clinic serving Dayton in Ohio. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Our child with autism has been on their OR list for nearly a year and we were told that his needs were urgent by two dentists there. However, they do not decide who gets seen, but the manager does. We were told during our last visit that we would be contacted about setting up our next appointment and I called myself to see if I could speak with them regarding this statement. I have not received a return call. It feels like they are prioritizing the type of insurance you have versus the needs of the children which is unfortunate as my husband is military and while my background is social work; I am not able to work so the insurance that we carry is our only option. I feel ethically that they should either bring in a dentist to assist their case load or assist in transferring the child to a facility that can complete services to make sure that their needs are met. This feels detrimental to the children’s health that they serve and questions their medical competencies.

One star because ZERO wasn’t an option! The doctors here are wonderful but scheduling staff absolutely SUCKS! Half of the people at the front desk don’t know what they are doing. Showed up for my daughter’s appointment that we’ve waiting over a month for! They have canceled her appointment because they were “over booked”. Asked to speak with the office manager (Madison) that was so rude and disgusting. My kids never miss an appointment, we are always early. How can you single my daughter out and cancel her appointment from other patients? Very bad day here! It does no good to establish with a place of bad business! If we didn’t show up, they would dismiss us from the center or charge a fee. But they can pick and choose who appointments they cancel because of their own negligence? Just stupid. Not only that, they sent a confirmation email 4 days ago. However, claim they tried to call me to reschedule. This place is a absolute JOKE!

I would like to state that I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend using Cleveland Clinic whatsoever!!!!!!!! My 6 year old daughter was just treated with an extended antibiotic regimen when a cavity became infected, and the infection spread to become cellulitis in her face.. Following the treatment.. the infection, and cellulitis returned just 4 days later with an added abscess, which was not present on CT during the ER visit just weeks prior. When returning to the ER, we were told “no more antibiotics, she needs an emergency procedure to prevent hospitalization and a potentially serious health complication” (sepsis). I was told to take her as soon as possible when Cleveland clinic opened at 9:00 am inside of Children’s main campus in the morning. We arrived at 9:20am and were not called back until over 3 hours later; which was not my concern, because her health was worth waiting. However, once I had heard multiple staff members mentioning “prior authorization” regarding several other patients before even coming in to see Sophia, I had already gotten the impression that their pediatric patient’s care was certainly NOT THE PRIORITY.. I was proven RIGHT when it came to my own child; who was a

I was referred to this dental office, but after my experience, I will not be bringing my children here. I scheduled back-to-back appointments months in advance because my children need to be seen together. A couple of weeks before the appointment, I received a call saying the doctor would not be available for one of my children. This completely defeated the purpose of scheduling them back-to-back in the first place. When I called to reschedule, the situation got even worse. The woman on the phone was unprofessional and gave me incorrect information, insisting that both appointments had been canceled. I knew that wasn’t true based on the voicemail I received. When I asked to speak with someone else, she refused. I hung up and called back, and thankfully spoke to someone else who confirmed that only one appointment had been canceled. However, the next available back-to-back appointments were pushed out another three months, which is completely unacceptable after already waiting months. At that point, I decided my children will not be receiving care here. I take their medical and dental experiences very seriously, and this office showed a lack of organization, communication, and p

*Edit* The coordinator called me aftet this review. She was able to get my son in for today. She did state that they tried to get ahold of me 2 times in 2024 & maybe something was off with scheduling since I brought him in on Cristmas Eve. He is in surgery as I type this. Thankful this issue was resolved & my son is getting the help he needs. This is usully the best hospital for special needs. Wish I could give a zero star. My son has been on a surgery list since 7/8/2024. It started with they would need to sedate him to do the necessary cleaning & take care of a cavity. He has several rotten teeth now & has been on antibitics multiple times for absess. He is suffering & in pain. He is nonverbal and has to suffer in silence.
